The Lincoln Brook crossing was well bridged. The main tributary crossings were easy as well. A lot of the feeder streams are free flowing and required a generous stride to clear. |

The most notable duck unders were easily negotiated and confined to the bushwhacks. |

I’m pleased to report that trail conditions are vastly improved since the 12/24/25 report. Almost the entire route was well broken out - big thanks to everyone who contributed. Barebooted to the start of the Brutus bushwhack and then wore snowshoes all the way back to the car. Snowpack was overall very firm underneath an inch or two deep squishy layer that would have reduced microspikes to at best marginal benefit. Minor drifts had reformed above the junction of the Brutus bushwhack with the slide path. There was a group of four bare booting ahead of me, and they turned around just shy of the summit when they lost the track in some bigger drifts. I continued on to the summit through intermittent drifts without much difficulty, and groups behind me likely packed the track down further. |
