Little late to report (posting a day late for trip on SUNDAY- true to date above) Lincoln woods, obviously a highway.. Osseo Trail, a wonderful surprise - hard pack with some short sections closer to summit of softpacked snow, ran spikes all the way. It may require snowshoes on a warmer day & there was folks out there with snowshoes, I’d say bring em but very a preference on which choice you’d want for traction. After Flume the rest of the hike, super highway (firm hard pack) on the rest of the trek to Liberty springs trailhead. Was windy in the exposed sections, just a short trip to tree cover so manageable if on a chillier day to touch summit & go.
Not that we had any views but an absolutely GORGEOUS hike when there is. I hope you all stay warm out there, prepared & safe. Definitely grab OSSEO while it’s groomed, even as a O&B.. I say it’s got more foregiveness in some ways that Liberty Springs Trail. Happy Hiking! 🥾 |
