About an inch of powder from last night on top of a frozen base made for good snowshoeing conditions this afternoon.
Squam Lake looks fully frozen over.
With another few inches forecast for tonight, and subsequent wet, mild weather, snowshoes will be the way to go for the foreseeable future if you care about leaving the trails in equal or better shape than you found them. Anything else will be like peeing on the toilet seat.
