What a day for a "winter" hike. It felt more like a spring day on Tecumseh. I used my new MSR Explore's the whiole way. Looks like there was approx. 4" of new snow that was well packed by 9:30 when I started. Plenty of snow for the snowshoes with minimal scratchy sections. I was impressed with this hike and must admit I had low expectaions as it was "only Mt Tecsumseh" Well the steepness of the ascent kicked my butt in spots and the viewpoint at the top was better then anticipated. Although the cloudcover did obscuere the view, on a clear day it would be well worth the walk. My dog Fazer had a great walk as well. |
