Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Biden Rally Bridge is closed on 175 so I had to drive past Woodstock and exit at Tripoli Road and drive back up 175 to Cox Farm Road, parked on the edge of the road where it was plowed out wide, room for two cars, just below big house above steep paved driveway. I walked a short distance down the road past log cabin #280 to start my whack.

Comments
Comments: When the sun came out at 11:30 I decided to get out. Drive to start my adventure was longer than I had planned due to the bridge being closed. Started around 12:30. I entered the woods just past the last house, log cabin and went up. Snow was about 6 inches, wet and I sunk about 3 inches but as I climbed snow got much deeper. This is a steep one. I had to go around big cliff bulges and then nearer the summit there is a big cliff band I went south (right) because I followed some deer tracks. It felt like I went a long ways to get around this cliff but I did. Then it felt like I popped out not far from the recognized highpoint. I looked at my watch and hoped I could make it East Peak before my turn around time. Going down to the col felt so fast compared to my slog up the mountain and I continued to find open woods and made my way and could see the jar from afar. I had a snack and a drink, changed my shirt and headed back following my tracks. Going back up Russell Mountain didn't seem so hard following my tracks. I got back to my car at 4. Snowshoeing was a lot of work but I liked my route and feeling lucky to get around all the cliff bands easily.
