 | Comments: |
Old Mountain Road was generally frozen granular (littered with postholes from inconsiderate Microspiking during warmer weather) and some large blue ice bulges. Microspikes may be outmatched by the ice, but snowshoes with broader points of traction held.
Crawford Ridgepole had some drifting from Sunday night's dusting of snow. Snowshoes were ideal.
Snowpack ranges from 6 to 24 inches, moreso toward the former. Amazing how much more snow is here than across the lake in the Ossipees. Lakes look frozen solid, even after the thaw.
Partly sunny afternoon with temperatures in the 30s. |
