Comments
Comments: Trail up to 3000' had an inch or so of overnight powder over a solid base. Above, the new powder was frequently more deeply drifted over longer stretches. KRT was often covered by several inches of the drifted new snow. Spikes to KRT and snowshoes on the ridge will be most efficient for a while. Nine people out on the KRT were split about evenly between spikes and snowshoes but the snowshoes smoothed it right out but it's still loose and unconsolidated. There are some impressive patches of ice in places but all can be negotiated easily with just spikes.
Lovely hike with Chris and Renee. Peaks were socked in all day but the woods were gorgeous, as always.
