Comments: Well today was the day for grabbing the peak. Roads were trash driving up so we had a late start of 10:04… happens. We figured we would run into people soon but we didn’t run into people until almost 4000’. The 3 guys had on full crampons and said they were going to try for George but visibility was bad so the bailed. The next 7 people before we hit the hut all said they did not summit. We were wondering how bad could it be as we were here in November with terrible visibility and winds and cold temps. We used snowshoes up until middle of the cone where the ice became thicc. We had k-10 crampons that we finished to the top and came back to the hut with. The winds were low, the temps were what I call great and the visibility went in and out. We saw the hut most of the time. Trail itself was windblown in but we have been there so many times with also tracks on our phones, we didn’t have too much of an issue. Always just the side hill sketch for a short distance. When we came back down we just made our own route back. We saw 3 people from from washington and they said they summited and did an out and back via the ammo (2 in full crampons and 1 in hillsounds). The snow did not pack at all so lots of fluff and most people we saw had 0 snowshoes, and were post holeing. Luckily it was only up high which it was unsafe as almost broke our ankles in them. Butt sledding occurred due to the fluff and lower traction on it. We used the old ammo trail as well! We had thought the cone took a while and a few other spots but still back to the car under 4:30hours.
