Comments
Comments: Picked up some blue lines and hanging chads today. Leaving the commotion of Pinkham Notch behind, we didn't see anyone until a couple w/ a dog near the end of our hike on Great Gulf Trail.

Old Jackson Road had seen some traffic, and we spiked it to Crew Cut Trail. Snowshoes on for the short out and back; we kept them on from there til the last mile or so. Did the other out and back I needed on George's Gorge, a punchy 0.3 mile, up and down and up and down!

Crossed the Auto Road... Low's (or is it Lowe's?) Bald Spot had seen foot traffic, but after that it was pretty easy trail breaking, usually a thin crusty layer w/ patches of powder, much less snow in the softwoods. A pleasant snowshoe to GG, and - woohoo - I finally completed the entirety of Madison Gulf Trail in winter.

We threw in Osgood Cutoff and the tentsite spur. Osgood Trail had some old bareboot traffic. Snow cover on GG decreased as we neared the end, and we finished the last icy bit in spikes.
