Crawford Path is beautiful right now. We put on snowshoes at the car because we knew we would need them for Eisenhower. Spikes would be fine up to Pierce. The final approach to Pierce on the steep section was all drifted in. We were happy to be wearing snowshoes. Heading over to Eisenhower had lots of drifting. Snowshoes are needed. The summit cone to Eisenhower was crusty and wind blown in places, but not too icy. Navigating up Eisenhower was a bit tricky with the tracks filled in. Only the top step of the ladder was exposed. Conditions are great right now. Too bad the Arctic blast is moving in for the weekend. |
