Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One birch, maybe 10" diameter, leaning over the trail high up, where the trail is back into the trees. Easy enough to duck under for now.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: On the way up we saw one, coming down with a pair of barebooters, enjoying the outing. On our descent, we encountered someone coming up, with a handful of leashes, herding about a half dozen dogs, which looked like the very energetic sled dog type.

Comments
Comments: Nice morning outing, mild temps (low 30s), with a lot of blue sky and sun, which gave way to a lot of cloudiness on the way down. We used just spikes over the smaller pasture, switched to snowshoes part way up the first climb past the fence above the pasture. Despite maybe an inch Sunday night and another last night, the snow cover remains thin up to the viewpoint, gradually getting deeper above there. The two of us, plus three others behind us in snowshoes, provided ten snowshoe "pair-passes" over the trail, leaving the trail a lot more packed out. This should last through Sunday morning, for the benefit of anyone out hiking in the brutal weather conditions expected this weekend. The storm expected Sunday-Monday will bury things again.
