Comments
Comments: We used bare boots for the road walk to the North Twin trail and then put on snowshoes for the remainder of the day. The trail was nicely packed down low but as we ascended there were a few inches of fluffy snow and more drifting. There is a LOT of snow up high! It snowed all day so I imagine our tracks may be somewhat erased by now. The temps were -10 between North and South with strongish winds which made for quick work. It was too cold to stick around. We saw one set of tracks that had been up and down Galehead but never saw the person. They did not use Gale River Trail and appeared to have used the Garfield Ridge trail from Garfield, so there is one set of tracks coming and going from that direction theoretically.
