Lost and Found
Lost and Found: lost a snowbasket and a light colored sock that was covering the top of my water bottle. Note to self: do not bring snow colored items that are not well attached on a winter bushwhack

Comments
Comments: Veered off the Hancock Notch trail somewhere between 0.2 and 0.5 miles. There was a faint trace of previous tracks that had been snowed over at the start. This was my longest bushwhack to date so I don't have much to compare it to. Snow down low was fairly well packed with some softer consolidated powder on top, but as I climbed the West ridge the drifts got deeper and I was postholing in my snowshoes. Between that, a bunch of snow dropping on my head, my shell zipper breaking, and the cold temps with insanely cold temps coming that night, once I hit a thicker patch of trees and I didn't see an obvious corridor to continue, I decided to bail about 0.3m close to the summer of West. This will all be moot in 24 hrs once the snow drops but as an FYI for most recent conditions. The bit of Hancock notch I did was packed but was also good for snowshoes on the way out
