Comments
Comments: This one ended up being a workout. As I set off, the trail had been broken out by a lone snowshoer and the snow was plentiful, soft, loose, and light. That person turned around about halfway up the trail, so after that it was just me. I broke out the rest of the way to the lake through 6-12 in. of powder with deeper drifts in places.

The lake was solidly frozen so I took a walk out to get a few photos. That was the only spot where I felt the wind; the rest of the route is east-facing and sheltered. No signs of human traffic past the lake.

This trail needs a LOT more snowshoe traffic to get it into good shape. Bare boots or spikes are not going to cut it, and could lead to an unsafe situation. No, this isn't the White Mountains but there is still a lot of snow here. Based on where the blazes are now, I would estimate total snow depths to be 3-4 feet.
