Comments: Went down East side trail to about parallel to the junction of Osseo trail with Lincoln Woods . The ranger came out of the building and said hi as I headed out. , I think he thought I was going further than I was that late in the day; "I saw all that gear" - 38L pack. I had packed for what was going to be a bigger adventure that did not come to fruition due to forgetting multiple pieces of gear.. He was nice and I told him I was just going out for a couple hours. Wore snowshoes but there were others without and it was packed. Saw some cross country skiers on both trails. THere were tracks ahead on east side, although less packed, at the point I turned around. I also went off trail and poked around the river and took some pics. The snow did not look safe enough to attempt crossing the river despite some bridging- there was a good amount of running water. Went back and went down the Lincoln Woods trail a little ways. It was more well packed and a bit choppier.
