We chose to wear snowshoes the whole way. Trail was packed. Most people we saw were in snowshoes. One person in microspikes not damaging the trail. But you can’t step off the trail at all without snowshoes! Wind had some sideways blowing snow and the summit socked in. We took the less traveled trail to the right (following yellow blazes) 0.3 miles from the summit to do the loop, just to have fun breaking trail. But if you stay to the left at the sign that says summit in 0.3 miles, it is easy grade and packed down. We came down that way. |
