Comments
Comments: Carrigain is now well broken out and in great shape, but that was not the case this morning. My group of two was the second group who made it up today, with others turning back, but it was pretty tough work, with deep, unconsolidated powder. The group of young dude ahead of us had started at 2AM in the hope of a sunrise summit, but it took them 9 hours to make the summit! We still had a lot of work to do after them - the section between Signal Ridge and the summit is particularly deep and drifty. There were multiple groups who came after us today, including an AMC group of 9, so things are well packed now, but snowshoes are still a must!
