Smooth sailing in snowshoes all the way to Eisenhower. Lots of people opted for spikes to Pierce which seemed to work fine. Snowshoes preferential between Pierce and Eisenhower as it isn’t quite as packed down. With no wind and full sun, it was warm going up Eisenhower!
A group of 4 were going from Pierce to Jackson, we tagged along for a bit but turned back before the descent to the hut as it was getting later, snow was deep, and navigation tough in the trees. If they made it seems like it would be a good route over to Jackson. Kudos to the lone hiker who broke out most of it before we all got there! |
