Our group of 5 broke out Carter Moriah trail up to Mt Moriah. About a half mile after Moriah we met up with a mostly broken trail coming up from Stony Brook. We cruised down to the junction then carried on towards imp in fully unbroken snow. We're pretty sure it hasn't been broken this season, or at least not in the last month +. Snow was knee to thigh deep with a thick but unsupportive cardboard crust. We slogged about a mile in past the junction which took us two hours, before turning back and bailing down Stony Brook. Stony Brook was a cruisey highway. |
