Comments
Comments: My original plan was to hike Wildcat A and Wildcat D today, but the trail between the two was not broken out and I was not prepared to do that alone after the amount of snow we got. I think I was the first one to summit, around 10:30 am, so I don't know if someone broke it out later. Instead I hiked back down to Carter Notch and then summited Carter Dome. Nineteen Mile Brook is almost definitely fine to do with just light traction, especially after all of today's traffic, but all other trails I hiked snowshoes are strongly recommended. The ascent to Carter Dome, as always, was extremely steep and I'm glad my snowshoes have aggressive traction. I wouldn't fault someone for swapping to crampons for that climb, but after the steep sections the snow was soft again and I was glad for my snowshoes. It was an uneventful but gorgeous day, sunny with infinite visibility.

The Carter-Moriah trail from Zeta Pass seemed to be broken out toward South Carter, but I have no idea if the full loop from Imp is broken out or not.
