I spiked the entire hike, although snowshoes would work just as well, maybe better on the ridge. Mt Kinsman Trail had set up into a firm flat consistent base from previous snowshoes. Kinsman Ridge Trail was also firm, but a little more uneven from booters. There was a lot of drifting and some postholing on the South summit open areas. KRT toward Fishin' Jimmy's Trail and the hut was well packed also, although a bit chewed up from boots. |
