Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Limited with four-wheel drive in non-plowed trail lot. Maybe no more than 4 vehicles. You could probably squeeze a 2-3 vehicles on the short access (plowed) road going towards Route 49 as there were a couple skate-skiers parked there at the end of the day. I did not see how one could park on the side of Route 49 with snowbanks.

Comments
Comments: Not a lot of recent activity on this loop. Did the full snowshoe-course counterclockwise. One recent soul broke out to Jennings Peak then went back down Drakes Brook Trail. From area of Jennings Peak, I broke out to Sandwich Dome. First tracks since last big snowstorm. Lots of deep dry powder but typical for breaking trail. Around three feet of snow or more off-trail but nothing significantly deep. A couple thigh-high spruce traps going around leaners or blowdowns but nothing of major significance. At Sandwich Summit there is a developing wind-blown snow headwall on the short scamper to viewpoint. It is sandwiched between a group of spruce trees. I would say current height is about 8-9 feet. It was consolidated enough to go up and across (I did not even dent the surface) but just throwing it out there for safety awareness. I weigh about 200 pounds with wear and without backpack. Note: No other connecting trails (i.e. Smart Brook Trail) were broken out between Jennings and Sandwich Dome. A few other snowshoes in there will make this trail nice and tidy. Still a work in progress up top.
