Secondary trails haven't seen much use since the storm a week ago. A barebooted postholed one of them, but didn't make it to the top. I was still sinking in with snowshoes on one of them due to the powder. Active drifting higher up. The summit loop was pockmarked by Microspikers unfortunately, and it's set up. The lower half of the Mt. Prospect Trail is bootpacked at this point, but snowshoes are the most efficient mode of transit, particularly above that point.
Sunny afternoon with temperatures reaching the lower 30s before plunging after sunset. |
