Comments
Comments: Snowshoes went on at the car and came off at the car. the trail from the bottom of the old ski jump was well tracked out and mostly clear of overhanging trees up to the side trail to the viewpoint. There were some tight spots to squeeze through. Similar conditions down to the low area when going from the viewpoint down to the low area before the final climb. After easily following the trail through the initial climb in the open area we continued mostly on the KRT to where all traces and tracks ended about 20 meters short of the final junction before looping to the right on the trail. At that point we were able to turn right and snowshoe across the top of the krummholz to the base of the tower. the entire loop trail that we were on was tight with bent over trees andLittered with spruce traps. a better way to the summit would have been to follow the ski tracks over to the upper stretches of the groomed slopes. To reiterate, the rim trial/loop trail did not directly connect with either the tower or the ski slope without great difficulty. After a quick visit to the upper ski lodge we followed the right most ski trail to the entry point where the out of bounds skiers go. Once into the out of bounds area, we kept to the left following the majority of ski tracks. this took us back to the glades a bit above there the KRT turns left towards the viewpoint. Have fun up there!
