Three of us started at the Sharon Ledges Trailhead. The trail was already packed-out to just past the ledges. We then broke trail approximately 2 miles in unpacked and wind-packed powder to where you pass old stone chimneys, just south of the cell tower. Lots of different ski trails tracked out at that point. Took the Beebe Trail, just north of the tower, down to the parking lot where we had spotted a car. Total mileage: approx 4.5 miles. Several nice lookout points just a short distance off the main trail. Sunny all day with very little wind. Snowshoes highly recommended because of the wide variation in the snow depth and how supportive the surface was. There are plenty of drifts. |
