Another blue bird day with splendid warm temps made this trek an absolute dream! We carried snowshoes, which absolutely weren’t necessary all the way up to Liberty, as the trail was well packed. Once you descend from Liberty towards Flume the trail had copious sections of loose snow. Although we weren’t postholing, I hate spinning my wheels, so I donned snowshoes from the Col all the way to Flume, then back to the Liberty Spring tent site. Televators came in clutch, and it really was energy conserved with all the slip-slidey snow. On Flume we observed one set of old, snowed in bareboot prints, so suffice it to say no one has broken out Osseo to the summit or to the slide since the last major storm. Get it before next week’s Thur/Fri/Sat incoming snow! #41/W48 for the Halls x 2! |
