Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Beware: The Annual Dukes of Hazard Frost Heave has returned to base station road. Ask me how I know haha USFS Lot has trash cans, open bathrooms, is plowed and plenty of parking. Also has a credit card kiosk but dunno if those freeze in the winter.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The new Ammo re-route meanders quite a bit through some fairly open woods, might be a good idea to get some blazes in there. Could be challenging to find the route post-storm. There also seems to be some confusion as to whether it is open all the way to Gem Pool or if it comes down to the old trail sooner. We followed the tracks and ended up on the shorter route in the morning. Broke out the additional section from the Gem Pool with the nice fella who found the mitten in the afternoon.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Work trip, Jackson stayed home with KatieB

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Guest dropped a mitten just as we got back to the parking lot and a very nice fella retrieved it for us.

Comments
Comments: For the third time in a week, Mountain Goddess gifted us with the magic of “light & variable”. Took the new Ammo trail from the USFS Lot for the first time. That puppy does some serious meandering. Nice woods though. We wore snowshoes all the way up to the hut and then Hillsounds up/down Monroe. Per usual in winter the route gets a little creative in both the upper section of Ammo and on the side of Monroe.

Decent amount of people out enjoying the day. Saw a group heading south from Monroe on what appeared to be a southern Presi. Met a guy at the hut who had come across on a full Presi.
