You ain’t going nowhere without snowshoes on this right meow. Very soft and very heavily drifted, especially higher up. Summit cone was extremely spicy yesterday and was actively trying to murder you. North wind was fierce and any sign of trail was non-existent up there. The guy ahead of me did not summit due to navigation difficulty and conditions. He took a sled down the ski glades and despite a head start we arrived at lot at exact same time. Met two wildly unprepared dudes five minutes from trailhead without snowshoes. Explained the danger of the conditions but doubt they were gonna make it that far based on their gear and appearance. Wild day on Cannon-I hiked Tecumseh beforehand as a warm-up and it proved to make the uphill grind very challenging. |
