After working over the weekend, I had Tuesday off. I was out of state over the weekend as well so my energy levels were not high from travel & less than great sleep. This in combination with it being a Tuesday & i would have to work Wednesday resulted in me only wanting to drive minimal distance. It is true that over the years i have hit franconia well over fifty times, but that happens to be for the fact it is so easy to get to and is hard to beat in terms of greatness in my opinion...anyway...
Started from Cannon side parking lot as always & went up falling waters. I must say the snow pack is the highest i have ever remembered it being. The conditions were surprising to me as i thought the trail would be well packed as it often is with how popular it is. Snowshoes were thus worn start to finish. The amount of post holing on the bridal path was pretty rediculous.
I didnt see many people as expected on a Tuesday, but the weather was better than forecasted (it was beautiful and sunny longer than expected). One of the people i did see was in street shoes and normal street clothes near the hut. It is none of my business what people do but it makes you wonder.
Not much else to say, it was a beautiful day. |
