 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Had to cross Carlton Brook a couple times. Ice bridges are flimsy and covered in powder. Tricky, but low stakes. The water is running low. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few blow downs on Wood Path between The Diagonal and Durand Road. One section is hard to follow because of the blowdowns. |

This was a red-lining hike. I had no particular destination. I was just crossing trails off my list. I walked all the trails listed plus all the smaller trails around Mossy Glen.
I was surprised to find few signs of recent traffic on some trails. Parts of Wood Path, EZ Way, and Burnbrae Path hadn't been touched. Even the upper part of The Diagonal (recently logged) was untouched. I broke out all the untraveled sections, but obviously some sections need more work. It's currently a very light powder (not difficult work at all).
I caught some glimpses of the lower reaches of Madison and Adams, but they were in the clouds all day. The highlight of the hike was Carlton Brook and Mossy Glen. It's a gorgeous area. |
