Far side of the road from the trailhead was wider so everyone parked there. It if is actively snowing and they are plowing, there is a spot .2 miles towards Lincoln that is wider, otherwise you potentially could get towed. |

Some genius put about a million speed bumps on the Kanc...they definitely worked to keep my speed down to around 40mph. |

Thanks to the work of the BORs yesterday, the folks out today had a much easier time. 7 hikers, all in snowshoes car to car. You could get by without them for the first 2 miles until it gets steep but even with the traffic the snow is not consolidating and bare boots would rototill the trail once it starts going up...you definitely are going to want snowshoes until we get some thaw/freeze cycles. Wasn't able to get enough grip in the loose snow on the steep downs so had a few slides.
No evidence of traffic since last storm on any other trails (Sabbaday, anything from Livermore side, and nothing heading to South Tri). |
