Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking is in the lot directly across from Star King Rd, every one was using this lot. It is used for the golf course in the summer. It was well plowed and has space for around 20 cars. There were about 8 today.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: step over
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Mostly great shape. Some low branches to maneuver around, due to the high snow pack and trees bending with the weight of snow on them.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cody was the only pup on the mountain today. He had a great time running up and down the trail; must have covered 50% more distance. Mushers secret has been working well to prevent ice build up on paws.

Comments
Comments: Trail up to the soft woods was packed and mostly consolidated. However, a couple of skiers skinned up and skied down criss-crossing the lower trail. Once in the soft woods, the trail was not as well consolidated. Sections were churned up and pretty uneven. Between the summits was a bit more of the same. Not sure why most people on the trail were in spikes; snowshoes are clearly the better option.

No views today, just clouds. It is still pretty cool walking along the ridge in the clouds with the trees so full of snow. Winds were much less than anticipated.
