Comments
Comments: Except for the short road walk on Little River Road, snowshoes door to door today. The trail is broken out, but it remains somewhat soft and unconsolidated. There were many out on Fire Warden's today (at least 10 that I saw), all but one in snowshoes. The one wearing spikes wasn't postholing, per se, but I noticed his feet sliding around in the soft snow and tilling up the trail...so IMHO, snowshoes are the better option right now.

At the summit, I met two who had just come up Hale Brook; they said the trail was broken out but very loose until about 0.5 miles from the summit, at which point whoever broke it out turned around. They said they broke it out from there. There were no tracks visible going down Lend a Hand towards Zealand Falls Hut.
