Comments
Comments: Vacation week is here. Unable to hike Cross Rivendell up Cube because some out of state vehicles parked far enough apart to take up much of the parking, but not far enough apart to get other vehicles in the middle, so this was my back up #1.

A Massachusetts Microspiker installed some postholes, peed on the trail (hard to steep off the trail into the deep powder with Microspikes), and left behind a pile of dog poop in the middle of the trail.

I cleaned up the postholes where I could (sorry, not on dog poop duty), but there are a few up high that remain. There's generally around 2 feet of powder down low, increasing to 3 feet higher up. Evidence of drifting higher up too. Trail is soft (and will soften if temperatures warm up as forecast), so snowshoes are the way to go, unless you like to leave the trail in crappy condition, figuratively and literally.

Cloudy early afternoon with light snow letting up and temperatures in the upper 20s.
