Having been sidelined for most of January with a knee injury, I had no expectations of submitting today. Especially with previous reports of high drifts after 3,900 ft. These conditions were later confirmed by folks we met that had turned back not wanting to break trail through them. We had Wally the wonder dog with us so this was another factor. So me my sister and Wally decided to just enjoy the winter wonderland for as long as felt good. That ended up being just short of the junction with Carriage Road. This is where we turned back after our lunch break. The trail was loosely packed. Snow shoes still needed especially if you attempt any further than what we did. |
