 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Pulloff on 113A is plowed. Room for maybe a half dozen cars. There is NO plowed parking at the east end of WODC Brook Path, which must be accessed from 113A. Thankfully, I have a good friend who dropped me off. |

Surprisingly, there had been traffic on most of these trails, except for the western end of Whitin Brook, the "triangle," and the eastern end of Brook Path.
Three of us snowshoed Cabin Trail to Lawrence Trail, then back to Whitin Brook which initially was unbroken. About halfway across, we encountered some snowshoe tracks of someone who had gone off trail and turned back.
I convinced my friends to hike the little (.9 mile?) triangle that is Big Rock Cave, Old Paugus, and Whitin Brook before proceeding up Big Rock Cave (COOL ROCKS!!!!) and Mt. Mexico.
I could not talk friends into Brook Path, but one of them was kind enough to give me a ride to the eastern end of the trail. The first 1.2 mile was completely unbroken, and the right hand turn off the road at .35 mile would be very easy to miss. Just beyond Locke Falls the trail suddenly became very well traveled back to the western trailhead. It's a really pretty trail that mostly abuts Wonalancet Brook. :)
