Comments
Comments: Three of us wore snowshoes the whole way. Trails were packed down but snow was still soft and microspikes would’ve left divots. Snowshoes highly recommended, especially toward the upper half of the Pine Bend Brook Trail where it’s steep with unconsolidated snow. Heel lifts were very helpful on the steep ascent. A couple of small icy spots was easily avoided. Drifts and chunks of fallen snow from trees made parts of Mt. Tripyramid Trail a bit messy. On the descent, there was some butt-sliding as well as some careful footing to stay upright. Overall, the trails are in very good condition.
