Up to Pierce was well packed and no need for snowshoes. Bit of a nice surprise based on other trail reports. Soft snow was still a bit slick, microspikes will help. I wore studded trail runners which worked fine. From Pierce to Eisenhower snowshoes are definitely still needed. A few groups ventured over so it is broken out but not very well packed. Stepping off trail results immediate snowshoe post holing. The track goes off trail a few times but overall still fairly easy to follow after the traffic from today. |
