Great day gridding with my offspring. They weigh sixty and forty pounds so I had them in spikes and they leave the trail as they found it. Anyone weighing more than that should be in snowshoes. Half the big-brained folks were doing so and leaving a nice trail. The other half (mental midgets) were destroying the trail in their spikes and leaving postholes all over the edges. Almost broke a foot when my snowshoe slid into one that was hidden in powder, and both kids ate sh*t a few times stepping in them. Between the peaks is super choppy because of all the inconsiderate morons who think wearing snowshoes is too difficult. Despite the top third of the hike being choppy, it was a fine day in the forest with mild temps, awesome views, and great company:) With incoming warm weather you 100% need to carry, and more importantly WEAR snowshoes!!! |
