Red line mission. Clear skies, temps in the teens, no wind. Too nice not to get out!
Definitely recommend snow shoes, even after tracking it out today.
Trail was well tracked for 0.5 miles from Rt 116. Beyond that, just a set of SShoe tracks (one way) and regular postholes from moose activity . The last tracks were easy to follow but drifted and melted in.. Good amount of blazes. No blowdowns.
Interesting (obstructed) view of the western sides of the Kinsmans, Cannon and Lafayette. |
