Comments
Comments: I brought snowshoes, but ended up wearing spikes all day. The colder temperatures made for firm conditions the entire way, but I can see this changing quickly with warmer temps. I nearly walked past the start of the Engine Hill bushwhack, but there's enough usage that if you keep an eye on where you are, you should see it. Bushwhacks were surprisingly easy to follow, largely due to evidence of previous post-holing. That being said, I was happy to have had a track on my phone to follow as back-up for when the path disappeared. Majority of small water crossings were easy to rock hop, step over, or walk around on the snow. The only notable water crossing, which is at the start of Iso Express, was a bit tricky. I got one foot wet on the way out, but I knew where to step on my return trip and stayed dry. I only saw one other person heading up when I was on my way back to my car. Overall, solid conditions and hopefully they stick around a bit longer!
