Comments
Comments: Deceptive surface. A few inches of fresh powder covered numerous patches of hard ice. The worst of it was before the water crossing, on the way back I slipped maybe a dozen times, recovered six times and fell six times. above the water crossing the old snow had not melted and refrozen as much, nice and crunchy until the last hundred feet or so. The last steep stretch is quite icy and could use crampons and ice axe. We made it with poles and snowshoes, but it was spicy.
