The quick freeze overnight Friday was welcome indeed to stop the thaw and consolidate the trail. It snowed moderate to heavy all day above 2500' so there is a fresh 4-5". Navigation is no problem on the Twinway spur. You can feel the monorail where the trail isn't easily apparent, or just stay between the postholes and old spruce trap graveyards! Good blazes in the col too.
Hope you fellows that were on your way to Guyot had a good night and a safe trip down (over Hale) back to your car. Found your Nalgene under the "pack catcher" one you must have got hung up on coming down from North. |
