What a day to finish a single season winter! (enough bragging...)
3-4 inches of snow fell overnight, so it was spikes on Lincoln Woods until the 4 mile mark, and then snowshoes all the way to Bondcliff. Bondcliff is a mix of ice, snow and rocks, so whatever you wear is going to get dinged up. The climb up to bond is a bit better, but still a mix of rocks and snow.
Snowshoes remained on over to West Bond, as well as a few deviations from the trail - ignore those, it was me missing the big obvious white space in front of me.
Wrapped up the single season winter and round 8 of the 48 (ok, final brag) on West Bond where I was lucky enough to chat with Bs on Rs and Mountain Mike and share some hiking stories. On the way out from West Bond I passed about 20-30 ZBonds traversers, which means the fresh powder should be very well packed until the next storm.
A great time to grab the Bonds in the final days of winter! |
