Enough snow has melted that parking is once again available right at Mt. Langdon Trailhead. (Earlier this winter I had to park just to the right at the junction of River St. and Yates Farm Road.) Davis Path is huge and plowed. |

Point-to-point, Davis Path to Mt. Langdon TH over Mt. Crawford, Resolution ledges, Resolution South Knob, and Mt. Parker.
3-5" fresh snow over a consolidated base and a few hidden postholes here and there, worst going up Resolution. Bareboots/spikes to just past Mt. Resolution, where we opted for snowshoes on the untraveled ridge. Bareboots the last couple of miles.
Resolution's icy and sloping ledges require care to traverse. We lucked out and spotted the obscure, unmarked side path to the South Knob, a gem of the White Mtns. What a spot!!
From Mt. Parker to the road had seen some traffic, but it was still tricky following the trail in a couple of spots, especially where the trail arcs around in a horseshoe.
I really enjoyed this hike. Thanks J&C! |
