Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Had to take care crossing the tributary running into the Little River less than a quarter of a mile from the turn off to Fire Warden's Trail from North Twin Trail. It was flowing pretty good. Using a pole to assist in balancing on pointy and icy rocks helped. Spikes when crossing, at least for us, was a must both on the way up and back.

Trail Maintenance Notes: We all picked up or flicked off several blowdowns.

Comments
Comments: The rain on Monday into Tuesday melted a ton of snow which on the trail was never more than a few inches and packed solid. We switched back and forth from spikes to bare boots a few times due to a fair amount of exposed rocks and bare ground. Fortunately the wind of last evening and early morning died down. The sun at the summit felt welcoming compared to the nip in the air we felt both on the way up and down at higher elevation. My car registered a low of 9 degrees on my drive over from Lincoln and only 23 when we returned early afternoon. T'was another great day on the trail with good company.
