 | Comments: |
the last day of winter pulled no punches. winds on Cannon were sustained and strong. I was almost blown over twice during mid step. no sun. grey and cold.
I made it to the summit in Katoola micros, by partner had hillsounds. I slipped in a spot about halfway up that sent me sliding. scraped and bruised elbow. On the descent made the switch to full crampons at the beginning of the glades, which was the absolutely correct choice of traction for us. I still took it real slow and went in the woods to avoid the ice flows in some spots.
Thank you to the fine young lad who picked up my fleece jacket and left it hanging on the post at the trail head. I really appreciated it. |
