Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Woweee that road is in bad shape, it looks like a motocross track, the holes are massive! I dont know if it was me being stubborn or stupid but I opted to try and drive over it…I made it! I went reaaaal slow, my wheel did get caught a bit at one point. But yeah, it is rough. I drive a Honda CX5, I think a smaller car might not make it. There’s a “no parking” sign right before this section so might be worth looking into an alt parking lot, there’s a gas station not far down the road.

Comments
Comments: Awesome trail conditions considering we are heading into shoulder season! First couple of miles are all ice, a bit of mud and rock but mostly ice. I wore my rock spikes up, would’ve done better switching to my actual spikes on the way down as the ice is quite slippery buuuut I was lazy. Rock spikes start to finish and I was fine, snowshoes took a ride. Last couple miles at the top was decently packed, crunchy snow, I only postholed once- can you believe it! There were some large snow shoe postholes but all very avoidable. A bit of a monorail is forming up top but there’s still a good amount of snow cover. All in all pleasantly surprised!
