 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing at 0.9 miles is a little tricky. I made it across when ascending in the morning on ice covered boulders. Another couple went upstream 100 yds and crossed on a downed tree. Descending the ice I crossed over on going up gave way I went down! Stayed remarkably dry despite landing in the water! All the other crossings can be hopped over if your legs are long enough. Otherwise it's just a step down onto rocks and dirt to cross. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple old blowdowns easy to step over or duck under. I cleared a new blowdown when descending which was totally blocking the trail at about 2.5 miles from TH. There's another partially blocking the trail at about 2.3 miles which is a bit thicker limb- maybe too thick for my saw or maybe I was just tired! |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Didn't see any but I imagine it would be easy for a dog! |

 | Comments: |
Hard-packed monorail almost the whole way. It's a bit less elevated near the summit. Only a couple small icy patches which were easy to negotiate. Definitely don't need snowshoes although that could change if snow comes this week. Lots of dirt and rocks. Spikes took a bit of a beating but I didn't think it was quite time for rock spikes. Only tricky part of the hike was negotiating the large brook at 0.9 miles from TH. |
