Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All crossings on Saturday were mangeable. The water is running high, so gators helped to keep water out of boots. You could rock hop across all of them.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown before the second crossing, but just moved that one off to the side and it’s out of the way now. There is one more, but now I’m drawing a blank where it was… it’s fairly small though and you can walk or duck under it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A few super good pups out enjoying the day

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: There’s a pile of things starting at the trailhead. I brought down a single smartwool sock and left it on the trailhead sign. I do recall seeing the mate to the sock hanging on another branch further up the trail towards the summit, but I forgot to grab it.

Comments
Comments: Honestly, I expected conditions to be worse today with all the rain and warm temps this week. But, I needed this peak for April. Trail is mostly dry with no snow remaining all the way to the third crossing. After that, it’s a mix of exposed rocks, mud, snow, and ice in various amounts. It’s probably dealer’s choice as to when to put on spikes, but around 2600’ the snow and ice becomes more consistent and it was just easier to use them instead of trying to navigate on rocks around it all.

Took the left side of the summit loop up and down. This was almost bare ground for most of it, except a small stretch at the beginning and very top of the loop trail. Clouds and summit fog cleared right around 2pm. Summit itself is totally bare ground.
